It's Thursday night, you want to go out, but you want to do something...different. Go out for drinks? Nah, you don't feel like standing (hey, we don't blame you, it's been a long week already). Dinner? You're hungry, but not *dinner* hungry. We have the perfect plan for you.
First, throw on something cozy because we heard it is going to snow tonight (yes seriously). We are loving the blanket scarves from Lola Boutique. Toss a couple leftover candies pilfered from your kids Halloween buckets into your bag and head to the Saratoga Film Forum where they are screening The Skeleton Twins (11/6, and 11/7 at 7:30 and 11/9 at 3:00). Tickets are just 7 bucks ($5 if you are a Saratoga Film Forum member). Even better, popcorn is just $2 and all other concessions are just $1 (bring cash for these).
We haven't seen The Skeleton Twins yet (read the NY Times review of it here) but it has Kristen Wiig and Stefon in it, how can you go wrong?
After the movie head to the absolute best deal in town for $1 oysters and $1 sliders at the Brook Tavern. Perfect if you're not hungry enough for a full dinner but hungry enough to eat. They have a fireplace, and Blanton's, and that little bench area with the cushy pillows is the ideal spot for watching those first snowflakes fall on Union Avenue. Keeping it low key, may we suggest an Apple Pie ice cream cone at Stewart's for dessert? It is UNBELIEVABLE. You can thank us later.
