Fruit + Flower Winter Ball ||

This Saturday Canfield Casino will be hosting the Flower & Fruit Winter Ball in support of Women’s Health Services at Saratoga Hospital. I, unfortunately, will be out of town and won’t be able to share in the festivities, but that didn’t stop me from playing a little mid-week dress-up and styling a look for this weekend’s event.

Styling tip || The Fit + Flare dress

The reason I chose this Samantha Sung dress (compliments of Encounter Boutique) for this occasion is two-fold. First it plays off the theme, offering a bright pop of red floral, which is much needed during this dreary weather. Secondly it’s one of the most universally flattering silhouettes. The fit + flare style looks good on all body types. If you have a slender build it can add some volume and curves to your look. The way the bottom half flares out helps to camouflage the butt and thighs, which works wonders on curvier body types.

I styled this look with an ode to the 50’s. I chose to pair the floral dress with black tights and open-toe bright red sandals. A wool cape thrown over the shoulders and a pair of black & white retro earrings helped to finish off the look.

The options are endless when styling a dress with this silhouette. You could choose to work with a nude tight and a patent leather Mary Jane shoe. Or you can go sans tights and rock a pointed-toe pump. Hair down in a beachy wave or slicked back in a tight bun will all look amazing. A red lip and red nails will rock with this look.

Eat. Dance. Enjoy. I’m looking forward to browsing through The Saratoga Social’s party recap photos next week.
