Join the Karen & Gary Dake Foundation for Children for Child's Play Six: Shake, Taste & Twirl on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 5:30 to 9pm at The National Museum of Dance, an evening of great fun with music by FreePlay, featuring local independent brewers and wineries on hand to sample their products, paired with delicious offerings from Airstream Catering. Tickets are still available and you can purchase them by clicking here.
This event is held to raise funds for equipment and services for local children with disabilities. At the event, local Schenectady High School student Shamar Persaud will be performing on his Jamboxx, a breath-controlled device that interfaces with music software on his wheelchair’s laptop. Shamar's muscle function and speech are limited by cerebral palsy, but he plays the saxophone with a Jamboxx, purchased with funds raised by the Karen & Gary Dake Foundation for Children.
The Jamboxx helped Shamar find his jam, and leading up to this great event in April we will be asking local friends and community members about what their jam is, what gets them motivated, what makes them feel alive and happy. Stay tuned for more about Shamar, and more about the "What's Your Jam" series from The Saratoga Social!
