Boot Up

It's not quite heels weather but we also cannot bear to put on winter boots anymore. The good news is that there are plenty of in between seasons options as far as gorgeous boots go, from short to tall and everything in between.

Ankle boots are great because you get the coverage of a boot while feeling like you are actually wearing something springy and with a heel that you won't worry about wiping out on a still icy sidewalk. Clockwise from top left: Aldo, Jeffrey Campbell, Frye,

Some people avoid mid-calf boots assuming they can accentuate calf muscles and make legs look shorter, but it's all in how you wear them. Mid-calf boots are great with making a chilly weather transition with dresses, wear them right now with tights and a dress (at or above the knee length), a blazer and a big scarf. Ah, tall boots. Nearly universally flattering, they can make any outfit look pulled together, they keep you warm when you think April should be sunny instead of still having snow showers, and they go with just about anything. With a heel they lengthen the leg and tall boots are an item that can be more splurge-worthy in a solid classic style because you'll be wearing them all the time.
