Dance away the cold weather blues today at Spa Catholic, where a ZUMBATHON  will be kicking off at 2pm! For $20 you can ZUMBA to your heart's content and give yourself a little pat on the back afterwards,  as your $20 donation will be going to support Drilling For Hope. If you aren't familiar with Karen Flewelling & Drilling For Hope, prepared to be inspired. During her travels abroad, Karen ( a retired Shaker High School Teacher & Saratoga Springs resident) began to notice the lack of fresh water in some South American and African countries she visited. She saw children walk miles to get to a clean water source & witnessed the devastating effects of dehydration and dirty water. Ultimately, her experiences were the catalyst for Drilling For Hope, the organization Karen founded dedicated to providing water and livestock to communities around the world.

To get a sense of the impact Drilling for Hope has had around the world, consider what Karen did in one of her last trips,  4 weeks spent in Rwanda and Tanzania. She supplied 7 wells to villages and schools, as well as school supplies and tuition fees for one year to 153 children. She also was able to donate jerry cans to more than 1200 students so they could carry clean water home from their new wells. So consider helping Karen continue her incredible humanitarian work & at the very least, show up to do a little ZUMBA this afternoon!
