Travers Style Guide: The Dress!

The countdown is on! #Pharoahtoga fever is officially in full swing! History will be made on Saturday and we want to look our best for the occasion. Here are our favorite dress picks for the big day!

1. Florals are so fresh, so timeless and sophisticated… especially when they are done by Ted Baker. It’s no surprise that this London-based designer knows how to make a dress that looks great with a hat. Plus, I’m guessing you’d get good “Pippa Middleton” butt in this sexy but conservative little number. Available at Bloomingdales.

2. This peach Halston Heritage dress is effortlessly chic and feminine with no fuss. Plus, they have it locally at Aggie Mulaney!

3. When in doubt, J. Crew. This dress is simple and comfortable but the pop of color makes it a knock-out! Pair this with a statement hat for the win.

4. You know us and our Lilly… We chose this style for it’s staid navy color, chic cut, and gorgeous beaded detail. Lilly Pulitzer is available locally at the Pink Paddock and online.

5. We spotted Encounter's Samantha Sung dresses a couple weeks back and instantly fell in love. The belted, retro shape and Liberty-esque prints feel like they aught to be on a woman sipping a mint julep… we can almost taste it now. Samantha Sung is sold locally at Encounter.

6. Saratoga Trunk will present the 17th Annual Saratoga Fashion Show this week at the track, on August 27th, to benefit the Ronald McDonald House charities of the Capital Region. A great event for an amazing cause. We chose this Theia dress (one of Saratoga Trunk owner, Natalie Sillery’s, premier designers) for its great silhouette and gorgeous color blocking.
