All signs are pointing to Summer being over. Pumpkin spice lattes are being consumed; fashion bloggers are showcasing their 'Fall looks' with boots and leather moto jackets. I get it; it's technically after Labor Day and Summer is over though I think the weather gods missed the memo.
With temps in the 90's this week and the weekend reaching the high 70's right now I am holding onto Summer and my wardrobe is following suit.
Styling tip ||
Wearing white after Labor Day: The “fashion rule” of not being able to wear white after Labor Day is archaic and really just ridiculous! Winter white is one of my favorites, especially when layered with plaids and deep, rich colors during colder months.
For this weekend's look I chose a silhouette that we saw everywhere this Summer, the off-the-shoulder look. It's super cozy, stylish and a bit sexy with the exposed shoulder. To make this dress slightly more season appropriate I paired with a pair of distressed white khakis and leather pointed mules. You can notice the white of the dress is bright white and the pants are a washed-out white. Mixing the two whites adds dimension to the outfit, allowing each piece to stand on it's own instead of competing with one another.
