PARTY RECAP: The Incredible Teddy Foundation

It was a picture perfect September evening at Saratoga National on
Friday for The Incredible Teddy Foundation’s Annual Fundraiser and
Silent Auction. Family and friends arrived and filled the tent on the
veranda delighted to support Phil and Andi Lodico and little Teddy
while raising awareness of Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH).

The Lodico Family founded The Incredible Teddy Foundationin 2010 after
their son Teddy was born with CDH, characterized by the
underdevelopment of the diaphragm in utero and every year the event
seems to grow in size and spirit.  Guests Jeff and Heath Ames,
Christine and Jim Mastrianni, Lisa and Jim Sask,  Jennifer and Matt
Hennessy and Caroline Cardone arrived and perused the impressive
silent auction while also snatching up raffle tickets for an exciting
VIP Yankees experience.

Little Teddy and big sister Esther were all
dressed up and loving the party,  while other guestsLisa Vitiello,
Dave and Stephanie Collins, Jen and Kyle Perry, Val Collins,  Carly
and Dan Connors, Andi and Chris Dolinsky enjoyed music from Renehan
and Mastrianni and food from Prime.  Most recently, the event has
enabled the Lodicos to establish the Teddy’s Home Away from Home Fund,
an endowment campaign announced last yearthat will offset the cost
of housing for CDH familiesat Boston Children’s Hospital. Special
guests on Friday nightincluded Katie & Will Moorehouse of Hudson
Falls, NY whose son Kellan was born with CDH, as well as Dr. Jay
Wilson, who is the Director of Surgical Critical Care at Boston
Children’s Hospital and an associate professor of pediatric surgery at
Harvard Medical School.  Dr. Wilson spoke to the crowd addressing the
advances and challenges of treating babies with CDH and also
beautifully articulated the sentiment of the evening saying that
having the party on 9/11 was fitting “as we remember the people who
aresupposed to be here with us and are not,  and celebrate the
people like little Teddy who were not supposed to be here but are’.

Andi Lodico was thrilled to report that Friday evening’s event raised
$20,000 for The Incredible Teddy Foundation and also shared some of
the night’s winners including Stephanie and Steve Kantscheidt who took
home a NY Giant’s helmet signed by QB Eli Manning and Nicole and Jason
Buck who won VIP NY Yankee tickets.  Some of the other auction winners
included Heath and Jeff Ames who will enjoy a getaway to Sugarbush
Mountain this winter and Kyle and Jen Perry who won a patio party at
Cantina Restaurant.
