While we may have missed out on the blizzard this weekend (and the subsequent blizzard parties), there are several fantastic events coming up over the next few weeks, which are sure to tempt you out of the house. Wednesday night Chairpersons Georgia and Jay Horner and Honorary Chairperson Angelo Mazzone will be celebrating a taste of Italy, at the 16th Annual Tuscan Dinner at the Glen Sanders Mansion. The evening will benefit the Double H Ranch with Special Events Manager Robin DeMattos telling us "“ We are so excited about the 16th Annual Double H Ranch Tuscan Dinner as Angelo Mazzone and crew have prepared a menu to die for! All of the net proceeds of the event directly benefit the Double H Ranch Adaptive Winter Sports Program.” The unique winter sports program offers children ages 6-16 dealing with chronic and life-threatening illnesses the opportunity to participate in various winter sports in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains free of charge with necessary equipment provided.
Later this week the Canfield Casino will host the 28th Annual Celebrate Choice fundraiser, featuring food and drink from Kim Klopstock's Lily and the Rose Gourmet Catering and music by the Zach Cohen Jazz Trio. This fun-filled evening will benefit Saratoga County's local Planned Parenthood and their mission of providing quality medical care, education and advocacy for reproductive rights. Up next as we head into February is a Saratoga favorite, the 19th Annual Bartenders Ball, which will be held on Saturday, February 6. Over the last 18 years the Ball has generated almost $500,000 for local charities; this year proceeds will support Wellspring, formerly Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis (DVRC). The theme is 'Fire and Ice' and guests are encouraged to dress in "in a cool white, an ice blue, or a fiery red" and will enjoy dinner, gambling tables provided by the Lions Club of Saratoga and dancing to music from the Audiostars. Last but certainly not least, the SPAC Junior Committee has been hard at work putting together another event that is sure to be a sell out, a "Black and Gold Winer Ball", to be held on Saturday, February 27.
In honor of the 50th Anniversary of the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, the event promises " to rival Truman Capote's infamous masked ball as we transform the Hall of Springs into the grand Plaza Hotel for the Party of this Century". With music from Funk Evolution a photo booth from Heather Bohm-Tallman and food from Mazzone Hospitality, guests are encouraged to wear black and gold attire and masks, with prizes awarded for the best masks of the evening. All of the ticket information for the SPAC Winter Ball as well as the Tuscan Dinner, Celebrate Choice Fundraiser and Bartender's Ball can be found on our calendar at www.TheSaratogaSocial.com.
