70’s vibes ||

In honor of the Wesley Foundation Gala this weekend, I’m offering a different take on the WWR. With a throwback to the decade that transformed fashion with styles and silhouettes, we are still in awe of today. Here is an ode to the 70’s, in all its glory. Click on the pics to shop.

Styling tip || My picks for 70’s-inspired fashions

The peasant blouse offers a casual laidback vibe. With its billowy fabric and embroidered detailing it’s a perfect match for a pair of cut-offs or cropped flares.

 Lace-up sandals or gladiator sandals make an appearance every Spring/Summer. They offer substance to the lower extremities. Opt for a suede pair for a little extra 70’s channeling.

The necktie blouse is a steal as it comes with a built-in accessory. You can wear it tied in a bow or knotted with the two pieces hanging down. From office attire to weekend festivities, it can work for any occasion.

Denim flares are back. No, this doesn’t mean you should say goodbye to your skinny jeans. Just put them on hold for day or two and opt for a cropped flare. A frayed hem with a pair of mules has Debbie Harry written all over it.

The “it” bag of the season is the saddlebag. It can be spotted everywhere. It’s a perfect size and offers the convenience of a crossbody. For an updated take on this classic, opt for gold hardware.

 Suede is always in style, and it’s not only meant for the colder months. Suede in the Summer has a boho, eclectic vibe to it. For that 70’s-inspired look play with earth tones such as brown, tan, or mustard.
