All Aboard! Saturday February 12th, the Saratoga City Center hosted the 20th annual Bartender’s Ball, paying homage to the best bartenders in Saratoga County.  The City Center was decorated in theme for Anchors Away! Cruise with Captain, with white and blue stripped table cloths complimented by a mix of candle lit lanterns and life saver centerpieces.  Three well stocked bars, served up a mix of drinks including the two signature cocktails, one for the savory palate; The Salty Dog, a combo of Tommyrotter gin and grapefruit juice with a pinch of sea salt and for your sweet tooth, The Caribbean Nights; Pick Six vodka, triple sec, orange, and pineapple juice, served over ice with a cherry and pineapple garnish.

With drink in hand guests took advantage of the photographer on site from Image Photo and Events and entered to win a trip for two with Celebrity Cruises.  As Cocktail hour winded down, guests found their seats, eager for the moment we had all been waiting for, the announcement of the most valuable bartender! With some serious competition, Patty Mueller of Ravenswood took home 1st place for the second year in a row, with 2nd place winner PeggySue Sherman of the Mill on Round Lake also claiming her second victory, third place went to Donna Snay of the Rusty Nail, so Who Run the Bar? Girls! After the winners were announced a duo from the Arthur Murray Dance Studio showed their skills on the dance floor to Livin La Vida Loca and dinner was served. On the menu was a DIY salad bar, a dish of white navy beans, sausage and peppers in garlic olive oil, lobster ravioli in marinara sauce, a tropical veggie stir fry and pork loin carving station. For dessert, a mix of eclairs and various pastries, cheese cake and fruit with a chocolate dipping sauce.

With Grand Central Station in the house, guests were on the dance floor for the rest of night!  Some of the fabulous guests we spotted at this year’s ball were  Tim and Cindy Schmehl, Rich and Mary Ferguson, Mike Bilock, Mark Baker, police Chief Greg and Mary Veitch, City Center Director Ryan McMahon, Tony and Judy Mangino and Congressman Paul Tonko.  Sponsors for this nautical night included Celebrity Cruises, Fine Affairs, DeCresente Distributing Co., Sysco Food Services of Albany, Empire Broadcasting/101.3 the Jockey, Saratoga Eagle Sales and Service, Pepsi Cola, Saratoga National Bank and Trust Co., Townsquare Media, Bonacio Construction, Saratoga Today, Adirondack Trust Company, and The Saratogian. Proceeds from the Bartender’s Ball went to Captian Youth and Family Services.  Will the 21st Bartender’s Ball be Patty Mueller’s 3rd MVB win? We must wait until next year to find out!
