Tom Myott is going to present his stunning Thoroughbred Artwork at the Gallery at Silverwood (398 Broadway in Saratoga Springs) starting with an opening reception on Thursday, July 23rd from 6-8pm. Refreshments will be served and it is open to the public.
This will be Silverwood's fifth annual exhibition of Tom Myott’s most recent artwork for the 2015 Saratoga Race Track Meet. Myott works predominantly with acrylic paint in a contemporary style, characterized by unique brush strokes and intense color. This year Myott is also adding a new style (yellow piece seen below) which are sort of “deconstructed” versions of his work- almost like studies, but they are the finished product. The look is a little different than his previous work and Silverwood will be selling them framed and unframed with the unframed pieces starting at only $30-40.
Thoroughbred racing has been the primary subject of Tom Myott's painting, which are vibrant in color, and painted in dots, dashes, and loose strokes. His large racing images have become the coveted artwork of numerous private collections including a commission of the 2011 Belmont Stakes winner, "Ruler On Ice". Tom was also featured on the cover of the "Saratoga Spirit" magazine and was voted Saratoga's favorite artist. Tom resides in his hometown of South Glens Falls, NY.
