PARTY RECAP: Taste of Travers Celebration

This year’s Travers weekend had a fresh kick off with the 1st Annual Taste of Travers Celebration at the Saratoga Museum of Dance.  Last year’s Travers winner, Keen Ice was honored at this event presented by Prestwick Chase of Saratoga benefitting the Saratoga Senior Center.  Jerry and Linda Crawford of Donegal Racing, Jockey Javier Castellano and Trainer Dale Romans, the event’s Honorary Chairs spared no detail in their planning.  The tented party pavilion featured framed Travers Stakes posters, miniature painted canoes in Keen Ice yellow and green silk colors, large red and white floral arrangements and other racing themed décor.  No party tent is complete without a dance floor and Grand Central Station, as usual got party goers up and at em’  pulling some brave souls on the stage and passing around a mic for some “ raw talent” from the crowd! Signature cocktail of Hendricks Gin and Tonic, appropriately named the Keen Ice, was a favorite refresher.  Mini lobster rolls, zucchini fries, mac and cheese and late night turkey club bites left guests full and happy. After finishing their snacks guests moved on to the cigar tasting by Smokin SAMs and photo booth featuring life-size horse statue by Heather Bohm-Tallman. The event sponsors did a fantastic job with this inaugural event, including US Foods, William Grant & Sons, Saratoga Water, Old Daley Catering, NYRA, E&J Gallo winery and Fine Affairs. After the last song was sung and the last sip was taken guests moved on to 15 Church downtown for the after party. We predict this event will be a must attend for many Travers to come.
